Our Doctrinal Positions

The Christian theological heritage is biblical, orthodox, and evangelical. Though Christianity—as is true of all religious traditions—has varying streams of thought and practice, Christian Heritage Fellowship affirms Christian orthodoxy as most accurately representative in the biblical tradition of the Christian Church. The doctrinal summaries presented below are succinct statements that we affirm to be true biblically, historically, rationally, and experientially.

Doctrine of Scripture

We believe the thirty-nine books of the Old and the twenty-seven books of the New Testaments constitute the divinely-inspired Word of God, inerrant in the originals, and are the universal and final authority for Christian belief and practice;

Doctrine of the Trinity

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in the Holy Trinity, composed of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each possessing eternal personality and deity;

Doctrine of Jesus Christ

We believe God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, was manifested in the flesh through the virgin birth, died a vicarious death on Calvary to make provision for the salvation of mankind, all of whom may be saved from sin through a living faith in Him;

Doctrine of Mankind

We believe that mankind, although created by God in His divine likeness, fell into sin through disobedience, resulting in a state of sinfulness (original sin) which manifests itself in violations of God’s law (actual sin);

Doctrine of Salvation

We believe that because of the atonement of Jesus Christ, God’s grace makes provision for justification (from actual sin and its penalty), sanctification (from original sin and its power to cause sinful acts), and, someday, glorification (from the presence of sin in the world to come). The experiences of justification and sanctification are retained by a living faith as expressed in obedience to God's revealed will, thus giving perfect cleansing moment by moment (I John 1:7-9);

Doctrine of the Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ; that all who are united by living faith to Christ are members of the Church, and that, having thus become members one of another it is our solemn and covenant duty to fellowship with one another in peace, and to love one another with pure and fervent hearts;

Doctrine of the End of Time

We believe that the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the living guarantee of the resurrection of all human beings, the believing saved to conscious eternal joy in heaven, and the unbelieving lost to conscious eternal punishment in hell.
