America’s Founding Fathers did not establish America as a secular state. Prior to the American Revolution, nearly all of the English colonies had established state churches. And most of the first state constitutions that were written in 1776 and following also had Christian tests for government service, as well as some form of established Christianity at the state level. When the Constitution was written and adopted in 1787 and following, no attempt was made to establish a state church; the reason: most of the state constitutions already contained Christian religious expectations. Given the fact that the states were so widely divided concerning their allegiances to their various Christian denominations, it would have been impossible to write and adopt the Constitution if the Puritans of the Northeast were expected to adopt the Episcopal and Anglican tradition of the South. Because the Founding Fathers made no attempt at the Federal level to adopt a state church, some have suggested that they sought to establish a secular government void of Christian influence; but only the most ill-informed make such fallacious claims. That Christianity was not rejected by America’s Founding Fathers is clearly evident from both private and state papers.

Woodrow Wilson

Despite the fact that the Founding Fathers made no attempt to distance themselves or America from the Christian religion, a cultural current arose in America that claimed a scientific justification for a new political orientation in the fledgling nation. A leading voice in this movement was President Woodrow Wilson who called for a scientific approach to politics in his book, The New Freedom: A Call for the Emancipation of the Generous Energies of a People. An elitist mentality began to develop in the nineteenth century that rejected the Christian heritage bequeathed to America by the Founding Fathers. Despite the fact that modern science was birthed by Christians, science began to turn from its religious origin to assume an atheistic identity. The atheistic worldview has for more than a hundred years cast a shadow of doubt upon the Christian political origin of America, and for this reason, the articles below are presented to justify the Christian political foundation of America’s Founding Fathers.

America’s Founding Fathers established their new nation upon “theism” or the belief in God. More specifically, they sought to establish America upon Christianity and biblical morality, which the Supreme Court repeatedly recognized.] But if the existence of God may be challenged, the place the Founding Fathers accorded Christianity in national life may rightly be challenged. With such a consideration in mind, we may justly ask, “Does modern science vindicate or incriminate the Founders and the Christian founding of America?”Evidence of the Cosmos Article Contents God and the Founding Fathers The Question of the Origin of the Universe Albert Einstein and the Expansion of the Universe Einstein’s Theory Rejected The Redshift Evidence Conclusion—End of St Read more...

Well over a century ago, scientists began to discover that the Earth, the universe beyond, and the factors that permitted life to exist were not a matter of mere chance. At the beginning of the twentieth century, scientists began to discover finely tuned aspects or factors that allowed humans and all life to exist on Earth, and without these factors, plant or animal life could not survive.Evidence of Fine Tuning Article Contents ] This fairy tale has been used to succinctly describe the unique conditions that permit and sustain life on Earth.
