Under Martin Luther and John Calvin, theology moved away from Pelagianism, or the belief that man was solely responsible for his spiritual direction. In its place, Luther and Calvin suggested that determinism (or pagan fatalism) was the most appropriate description of how God relates to the world. That is, the doctrine of determinism taught that God preordained everything that occurs in the world—something taught also by paganism. In the late Read more...

Daniel Whedon was one of the most distinguished Methodist scholars and churchman of nineteenth-century American Methodism. His interest in the subject of the Lord's Day should be no surprise to the reader given the fact that the subject occupied an important place in Methodist doctrine and practice, but it also was one of great importance to the spiritual life of America from its inception. Christian Heritage Fellowship seeks to speak to several specific areas of need. First, we seek to advocate a biblical worldview as opposed to other world religions or secular humanism. Second, our ministry seeks to recover and advocate the truth concerning America’s Christian heritage and the positive influence of Christianity around the world. Finally, it is our desire to provide this information to believers (and non-believers) that they might be inspired to live lives pleasing to God.
